Recap: Carver Crusaders vs. Ursuline Academy Bears
If the Carver Crusaders were feeling good off their 48-26 takedown of the Bellingham Blackhawks on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Carver fell to Ursuline Academy 51-47.
Carver's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadyn Sotomayor, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Sotomayor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Josie Helms was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Carver's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ursuline Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Carver's road trip will continue as they head out to face Middleborough at 5:30 p.m. on January 3rd. As for Ursuline Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fontbonne Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
