Softball Game Preview: South Fayette Lions vs. West Allegheny Indians

The South Fayette Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the West Allegheny Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. South Fayette is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

On Wednesday, South Fayette was able to grind out a solid win over Montour, taking the game 6-3.

Meanwhile, West Allegheny never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Upper St. Clair. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

West Allegheny pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for South Fayette, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

South Fayette couldn't quite finish off West Allegheny when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
