Recap: Tri-State Christian Huskies vs. Morning Star Academy Mustangs
The Tri-State Christian Huskies were the 48-44 winner over the Morning Star Academy Mustangs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Tri-State Christian lost to Morning Star Academy on the road by a decisive 52-36 margin on Saturday. Tri-State Christian's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Morning Star Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Trotter, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Trotter has scored at least a third of Morning Star Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Yowell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Tri-State Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Morning Star Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Tri-State Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oakhill Christian at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Morning Star Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
