Volleyball Recap: Sierra Beats Firebaugh for Their Third Straight Victory

Sierra waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Firebaugh Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chieftains also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Sierra's got stronger as the match went on, holding Firebaugh to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-8.

Among those leading the charge was Nicole Gibson, who had 15 assists and three aces. That's the most assists she has posted over her last eight matchups. Lillian Cobb also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Sierra was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Sierra's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Firebaugh, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Sierra wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Elsinore on the 5th. As for Firebaugh, they will face off against Fowler at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
