Basketball Recap: North Florida Christian Triumphs

Maclay came into Monday's contest looking for another win against North Florida Christian, but Kyle Estimond wouldn't allow it. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Eagles made off with a 56-55 victory over the Marauders for which the team can thank Estimond, who went 10-for-13 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of North Florida Christian's points.

Another player making a difference was Cayden Fiallo, who posted 12 points. He has also also been stellar as far as three-point shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 40% every time he's hit the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Maclay lost on Monday, don't look at Beau Beshears. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards. Connor Thumm was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

North Florida Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Maclay, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

North Florida Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-39 win against Wiregrass on the 2nd. As for Maclay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-37 loss against Lincoln on the 3rd.
