Baseball Recap: Colleton County Takes a Loss

Colleton County had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-15-2 to make it seven. They came up short against the May River Sharks, falling 6-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Monday.

As for May River, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-8. Considering they have won six games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For May River's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Guthrie, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Guthrie a new career-high.

While Colleton County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
