Baseball Game Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Coal City Coalers

For the second straight game, Reed-Custer will face off against Coal City. The Comets will host the Coalers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Reed-Custer has four straight victories, Coal City has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Reed-Custer needed a bit of extra time to put away Coal City. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Coalers 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Comets have posted since April 3rd.

For Coal City's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lance Cuddy, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.

Reed-Custer's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Coal City, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
