Basketball Recap: Founders Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Founders Classical Academy has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 19.83 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They were dealt a 56-19 loss at the hands of the Lifegate Christian Falcons. The Hoplites have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Anelyna Cavazos continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lifegate Christian, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 boards. Cavazos' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sharla Maples, who posted seven points along with 13 assists and five steals.

Founders Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lifegate Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Founders Classical Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jubilee at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Founders Classical Academy's defense has only allowed 19.8 points per game this season, so Jubilee's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lifegate Christian, they will square off against Bracken Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
