Basketball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

Richland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 50-43 to the Leake County Gators. The Rangers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gators from their previous meeting back in December of 2022.

Nigel Kincaid continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Leake County, shooting 60% from the field on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Kincaid is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion Townsend, who posted ten points.

Richland's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Leake County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Richland will venture away from home to face off against Florence at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leake County, they will host Scott Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels' defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so the Gators' offense will have their work cut out for them.
