Basketball Recap: Byne Christian Skates Past Grace Christian with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Byne Christian over Grace Christian in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Byne Christian Saints blew the Grace Christian Crusader out of the water with a 62-30 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Saints had established a 27 point advantage.

Landon Horne was a one-man wrecking crew for Byne Christian as he went 9 for 17 en route to 24 points. Darius Greene was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Thad Shuler and Zechariah Griffith certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Shuler posted 11 points, while Griffith had nine points. That was a full 36.7% of Grace Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

When Byne Christian and Grace Christian next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Byne Christian will try to stop CHESS Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Similarly, Grace Christian will challenge Bible Baptist Christian and their six-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
