Basketball Recap: Columbia Independent Triumphs

Columbia Independent won the last time they faced Madison, and Blake Morris did his part to make sure it happened again. Columbia Independent blew past the Madison Panthers 61-37 on Monday thanks in part to Morris, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 15 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Columbia Independent's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Deolu Adibiyi, who posted 16 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Columbia Independent's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Madison, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-18.

Looking ahead, Columbia Independent will square off against Bevier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
