Softball Game Preview: Ridgewood Maroons vs. Fair Lawn Cutters

The Ridgewood Maroons will head out to face off against the Fair Lawn Cutters at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Wednesday, Ridgewood didn't have quite enough to beat Wayne Valley and fell 7-6.

Fair Lawn came out on top against West Milford on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Cutters blew past the Highlanders 7-1. The win continues a trend for the Cutters in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won seven in a row.

Chloe MacClements spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jackie Chevrier was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Blake Weiner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Fair Lawn's record is now 7-5. As for Ridgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
