Volleyball Recap: Archer City Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Archer City challenged Vernon on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Lions. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

While Archer City ultimately came up short, they really made Vernon work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 29-27.

Aaliyah Moralez was a one-woman wrecking crew For Vernon. as she had 23 digs and two assists. Those 23 digs gave Moralez a new career-high.

Archer City's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Vernon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season.

Archer City will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Olney at 11:00 a.m. on the 27th. Vernon has already played their next contest (against Jacksboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
