Baseball Recap: Olathe East Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Olathe East had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers 5-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Olathe East pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Gardner-Edgerton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olathe East will venture away from home to challenge Mill Valley on Saturday. As for Gardner-Edgerton, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shawnee Mission North on the 12th.
