Football Recap: Marlin Comes Up Short

Marlin played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Honey Grove Warriors 40-7. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

Ryelan Morris went supernova For Honey Grove., rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Morris also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making three total tackles. Tre'Lyn Bailey got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Marlin's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Honey Grove, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlin will host Chilton at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Honey Grove, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Winnsboro at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
