Basketball Game Preview: South Putnam Eagles vs. Owen Valley Patriots

South Putnam is 2-8 against Owen Valley since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Putnam Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Owen Valley Patriots at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in South Putnam's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

South Putnam is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Southmont on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Putnam came up short against Southmont, falling 78-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since January 11th.

Meanwhile, Owen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 60-32 loss at the hands of Cascade.

Owen Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for South Putnam, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Things could have been worse for South Putnam, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-33 loss to Owen Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can South Putnam avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
