Football Recap: Calhoun County Comes Up Short

Calhoun County extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They took a blow against the Aucilla Christian Warriors, falling 47-14. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

As for Aucilla Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Landon La Rosa was his usual excellent self, throwing for 292 yards and four TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 43 yards and one touchdown. Aucilla Christian's leading receiver Bryson Mills was La Rosa's top target yet again, picking up 169 receiving yards and one score.

Calhoun County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 52-12 victory against Southwest Georgia STEM Charter on the 10th. As for Aucilla Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-0 win against Graceville on the 10th.
