Softball Game Recap: Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs vs. Duanesburg Eagles

Berne-Knox-Westerlo extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 10-5 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Duanesburg Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Thursday.

As for Duanesburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

For Duanesburg's part, Genevieve Rickert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits. Rickert has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Duanesburg's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabby DeLeon, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Berne-Knox-Westerlo will face off against Johnstown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Duanesburg, they will welcome Clinton at 10:05 a.m. on Saturday.
