Basketball Recap: A.L. Brown Wonders vs. Cox Mill Chargers

A.L. Brown lost against Cox Mill back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The A.L. Brown Wonders lost 87-64 to the Cox Mill Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Wonders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Chargers are ranked 173rd).

Cox Mill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sherod McCmormick out in front who posted 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Makih Philyaw, who went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points.

A.L. Brown has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Cox Mill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-10.

A.L. Brown will venture away from home to square off against West Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
