Baseball Game Preview: Waterford Wildcats vs. Le Grand Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Waterford will face off against Le Grand. Waterford is taking a road trip to square off against Le Grand at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterford has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with six straight defeats, while Le Grand will come in with seven straight wins.

Waterford came up short against Le Grand on Monday, falling 15-1.

For Le Grand's part, Jose Manzo made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Manzo has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Diego Martinez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Fabian Meza was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Le Grand kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive matchups.

Le Grand's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Waterford, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
