Munster and Boone Grove are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will face off against the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Munster's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Boone Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Munster will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Chesterton on Monday. The Mustangs never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. Considering the Mustangs have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Boone Grove came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Vikings 4-2.

Amanda Powell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Olivia Treece was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Munster is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Boone Grove, their record is now 14-10.

Munster skirted past Boone Grove 7-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
