Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valor Academy). They put the hurt on the Discovery Warriors with a sharp 65-42 victory on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Valor Academy has posted since January 26, 2024.

Leading Valor Academy to victory were Maliqq Van Arsdale and Maliqui Van Arsdale. Maliqq went 8 of 20 on his way to 20 points and four steals, while Maliqui dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Maliqui has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played. David Quiroa was another key player, putting up ten points.

Valor Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Discovery, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Valor Academy will take on Sun Valley Magnet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Discovery, they will be playing at home against Magnolia Science Academy Reseda on Tuesday. Discovery has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
