Baseball Recap: Floydada Gets the Win

13 must be Floydada's lucky number: they beat Kress with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Whirlwinds beat the Kangaroos by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-6 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Manny Delafuente, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Peyton Noland, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI.

Floydada was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Floydada back to even at 2-2. As for Kress, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Floydada will welcome O'Donnell at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kress, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lamesa at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
