Baseball Recap: Wilmington Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Wilmington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the Union Area Scotties on Wednesday.

Tristen Jones looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Wilmington let Hunter Jones and Freddie Zehetner run wild. Jones went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Zehetner scored three runs and stole Two bases. Those three runs gave Zehetner a new career-high.

Wilmington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Area only posted an OBP of .375.

The victory got Wilmington back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilmington will challenge Sharon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Union Area, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Leechburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
