Football Recap: Centennial Runs Past Memphis Central

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Centennial walked away with it. They took down the Memphis Central Warriors 38-19 on Friday. 38 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Mitchell Grandjean produced another solid effort throwing for 217 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 63 yards. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played.

Grandjean was just one part of a punishing run game: Centennial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Centennial has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Memphis Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.

Coming up, Centennial will challenge Henry County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Memphis Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
