Softball Recap: Chantilly Comes Up Short

Westfield hit Chantilly with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers fell 6-1 to the Bulldogs. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Bella Eig spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Lauren Musci was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Chantilly and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Westfield, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-1.

Chantilly wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-0 defeat against James Madison on the 14th. As for Westfield, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-0 loss against Yorktown on the 13th.
