Soccer Recap: Millikan Comes Up Short

Millikan might've scored the first goal on Monday, but it was Fountain Valley who claimed the real prize. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Barons who were credited with the win. The Fountain Valley Barons got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to the Millikan Rams' six. The loss was Millikan's first of the season.

Bernardo Torres and Jaycob Alfaro Plascencia scored both of Millikan's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Millikan fell to 4-1. As for Fountain Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millikan will host Segerstrom at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fountain Valley, they will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Edison at 3:00 p.m. This will be Fountain Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
