Basketball Game Preview: Churchill Chargers vs. Wayne Memorial Zebras

Churchill is 0-10 against Wayne Memorial since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Churchill Chargers will head out to challenge the Wayne Memorial Zebras at 7:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Churchill took a blow against Belleville, falling 77-19. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Tigers are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Wayne Memorial was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Dearborn 67-29. The Zebras have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 37 points or more this season.

Wayne Memorial has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Churchill, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Churchill was dealt a bruising 76-36 defeat at the hands of Wayne Memorial in their previous matchup on January 7th. Can Churchill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
