Volleyball Game Preview: West Lafayette Red Devils vs. Pioneer Panthers

The West Lafayette Red Devils are taking a road trip to take on the Pioneer Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

West Lafayette managed to slip by Harrison the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Devils came up short against the Raiders on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Red Devils' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-21, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Pioneer unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Benton Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since September 11th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for West Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

West Lafayette took their victory against Pioneer when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
