Softball Recap: Northview Takes a Loss

Northview was the 4-3 winner over Whitmer when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Alexa Sliwinski made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kyra Ervin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

Northview's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Whitmer, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northview will welcome Delta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Whitmer, they will host Findlay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
