Baseball Recap: Teutopolis Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Clay/Clay City on Tuesday, Teutopolis came back down to earth. The Wooden Shoes fell 6-3 to the Highland Bulldogs on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wooden Shoes of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Teutopolis' defeat dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Highland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Coming up, Teutopolis will host Glenwood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wooden Shoes 2.8, the Titans 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Highland, they will venture away from home to take on Edwardsville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
