Softball Recap: Eastside Takes a Loss

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Hawthorne Hornets, falling 16-4. The Rams were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

Nylah Francois was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jayla Lane, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for Hawthorne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Coming up, Eastside will face off against Saint Francis Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawthorne will be paying especially close attention to the Rams' matchup: after the Rams faces off against Countryside Christian, they'll take on Hawthorne again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
