Football Game Preview: Ramapo Gryphons vs. Suffern Mounties

The Ramapo Gryphons will head out on the road to face off against the Suffern Mounties at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramapo will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Ramapo will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Ketcham, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Gryphons secured a 35-29 W over the Storm on Thursday.

Nahum Pierre continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 213 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 44 yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 106 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Suffern, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over Yonkers Brave [Saunders Trades & Tech/Lincoln/Riverside/Palisade Prep] on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Mounties' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

The win got Ramapo back to even at 4-4. As for Suffern, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Ramapo ended up a good deal behind Suffern in their previous meeting back in September of 2019, losing 25-6. Can the Gryphons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
