Softball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

Hamilton has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.52 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Curry Yellowjackets, falling 13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Aggies have suffered since February 25th.

Hamilton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lizzie Huff, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That run marked the first that Huff scored this season.

Even though they lost, Hamilton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in seven consecutive matchups.

Hamilton now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Curry, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Hamilton and Curry should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Hamilton (ranked 90th) will meet Haleyville (ranked 320th) at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Curry will challenge Ardmore at 8:45 a.m. on Monday up 22 places (4 vs. 26).
