Soccer Recap: Sunnyside Takes Down Ranked Shadow Ridge

On Friday, Sunnyside faced Shadow Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Everything went the Sunnyside Blue Devils' way against the Shadow Ridge Stallions as the Sunnyside Blue Devils made off with a 9-2 win. Angel Bracamontes Pulido was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Sunnyside, bringing their record for this year to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five contests. As for Shadow Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4-2.

Sunnyside and Arizona College Prep will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Arizona College Prep will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Sunnyside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shadow Ridge, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Basha at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
