Basketball Recap: Fordham Prep Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Fordham Prep won the last time they faced Salesian, and Brian Kapfer did his part to make sure it happened again. The Fordham Prep Rams came out on top against the Salesian Eagles by a score of 56-46 on Friday thanks in part to Kapfer, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. His evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan McElhatton, who posted seven points in addition to 12 boards and three blocks. Those 12 boards gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Salesian still got an impressive performance from Julien Wiggins, who put up 25 points along with six steals and five boards. That was a full 54.3% of Salesian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Lagos, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Fordham Prep and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Salesian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fordham Prep will square off against Monsignor McClancy at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salesian, they will take on St. Mary's at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
