Volleyball Recap: Bartlett Yancey Takes a Loss

If Bartlett Yancey was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Reidsville last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buccaneers lost 3-0 to the Southeast Alamance Stallions on Monday. The Buccaneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Stallions earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Bartlett Yancey was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.

Kara Badstein paced Bartlett Yancey's offense, picking up 12 kills. Badstein got some help from Lyndsey Smithers and her 15 assists. Badstein also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Reagan Lee, each putting up three.

Sophia Carney was the offensive standout of the contest as she had ten digs and five assists.

Bartlett Yancey's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Southeast Alamance, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Bartlett Yancey wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Carver on the 7th. As for Southeast Alamance, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Person on the 7th.
