Basketball Recap: San Juan Comes Up Short

San Juan had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-3 to make it four. They fell 55-42 to the Emery Spartans. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

As for Emery, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Sitterud Porter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9-for-20 en route to 22 points and five steals. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Griffin Brek, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Juan will take on South Sevier at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Emery, they will square off against South Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
