Baseball Game Preview: Ralston Rams vs. Gross Catholic Cougars

The Ralston Rams will face off against the Gross Catholic Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Ralston is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hastings just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 12-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since March 31st.

Meanwhile, Gross Catholic entered their tilt with Elkhorn North last Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Wolves.

Gross Catholic got a great performance from Kayo Rempe as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Robbie Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Gross Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Ralston, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Ralston might still be hurting after the 17-11 loss they got from Gross Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
