Football Game Preview: Fryeburg Raiders vs. Brunswick Dragons

The Fryeburg Raiders will face off against the Brunswick Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fryeburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Falmouth, who was ranked ninth at the time (Fryeburg was ranked 21st). The Raiders had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Navigators. The game marked the first time this season in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 36 points the game before, Brunswick was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 34-12 to Skowhegan. Dragons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the River Hawks since Friday.

Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Fryeburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Fryeburg against Brunswick in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 47-6 win. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
