Softball Recap: Lebanon Comes Up Short

Lebanon dropped their record down to 14-14 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Wilson Central Wildcats by a score of 16-15. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 back in March.

Shylee Essary led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Palyn Stephens was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI.

As for Wilson Central, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games.

On Wilson Central's side, Adelynn Perry was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Perry is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jordin Atkins, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Lebanon is taking a road trip to take on LaVergne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson Central, they will head out to challenge Oakland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
