Softball Recap: White Station Triumphs

While White Station's victory against Whitehaven wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 13-11. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Debra Echlin and Baily Britt did most of the damage at the plate: Echlin went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while Britt went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Britt a new career-high. Kevinee Cathey was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

White Station hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.

White Station's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Whitehaven, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, White Station will be playing at home against Memphis Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whitehaven, they will take on Trezevant at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
