Volleyball Recap: Galena Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Galena had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Spanish Springs Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Galena took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Gianna Antle went supernova For Spanish Springs., getting 11 digs and four aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galena will square off against Reed at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spanish Springs, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Bishop Manogue at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
