Basketball Recap: West Jessamine Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pulaski County last Saturday, West Jessamine came back down to earth. The West Jessamine Colts took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frederick Douglass Broncos on Sunday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (55), the Colts still had to take the loss.

West Jessamine's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Frederick Douglass, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

West Jessamine will be taking part in a tournament against Russell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Jessamine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Russell likes a good challenge. As for Frederick Douglass, they will take on Lake Highland Prep in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in Frederick Douglass' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
