Recap: Mountain View Bruins vs. Timpanogos Timberwolves
The Mountain View Bruins had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They snuck past Timpanogos with a 50-46 win. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but Mountain View was the better team in the second half.
Conner Fairbanks was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Simeon Suguturaga, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxen Mccuistion, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Mccuistion hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Johnson, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Mountain View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Timpanogos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Layton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Layton Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Mountain View likes a good challenge. As for Timpanogos, they will be playing at home against Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Payson is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
