Basketball Recap: Leila Bryant's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy over Martin County + How To Watch

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Martin County. While Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Martin County 16-11 in the first quarter.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Leila Bryant, who went 6-for-14 en route to 15 points. Gianna Conklin-Jones was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Martin County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Becca Witt, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Townsend, who went 5-for-6 on her way to 12 points and seven boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Martin County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-46 defeat against Grandview Prep on the 24th. As for Martin County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-40 loss against Gateway on the 28th.
