Football Game Preview: Higley Knights vs. O'Connor Eagles + How To Watch

The Higley Knights will challenge the O'Connor Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Higley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Centennial, who was ranked sixth at the time (Higley was ranked 16th). The contest between the Knights and the Coyotes didn't end well, with the Knights falling 31-13. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Higley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Aurei Moody was the real danger to the passing game, picking up six interceptions all by himself. Higley got some further help from Dax White: he picked up a sack and made 21 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for O'Connor, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Mountain Ridge 28-7 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mountain Lions: they've now won nine in a row.

O'Connor's win came from a few key players Higley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brodie Moore, who rushed for 94 yards and one TD, and also threw for 51 yards and one touchdown. Brady Dorsey was in the mix too, providing O'Connor with two scores.

O'Connor was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to O'Connor's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Marcus Johnson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

Higley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for O'Connor, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7.
