Logan Barbour Delivers Best Effort of Season
Yucaipa was led to victory by Logan Barbour, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Barbour rushed for 260 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.
If the past is any indication, Barbour could be in store for another big game when he takes on Redlands on Friday. Barbour rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Terriers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Sadly, Isaac Vitela posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Redlands East Valley over Yucaipa on Thursday. Vitela threw for 396 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 75 yards on only eight carries.
This is the second loss in a row for Redlands East Valley and nudges their season record down to 1-7. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Wildcats takes on Beaumont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Cajon was led to victory by Evan Powell, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Powell wasn't messing around, throwing for 330 yards and six touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. The game was his third straight with five or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season. He is becoming a predictor of Cajon's success: when he posts at least 300 passing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
On the year, Powell has thrown 20 touchdowns while averaging 198.4 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had 12 passing touchdowns.

Deace Turner posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Thursday. He rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 31 yards and a touchdown. He is becoming a predictor of Yucaipa's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
Unfortunately for Redlands East Valley, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Turner. Turner threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in October of 2023.
