Baseball Game Preview: Randolph Rams vs. Montville Mustangs

The Randolph Rams will challenge the Montville Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Randolph's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Montville has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road.

Randolph's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Pope John XXIII.

The result came thanks to Ethan Shire's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Randolph is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brendan Stokoe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Nick Armento was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Montville was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of Sparta by a score of 2-1.

Andre Milciukas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, CJ Tedesco was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Montville's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Randolph, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
