Basketball Game Preview: Shanley Deacons vs. Sheyenne Mustangs

Shanley is 2-8 against Sheyenne since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Shanley Deacons will welcome the Sheyenne Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Shanley came up short against Fargo South and fell 71-62.

Meanwhile, Sheyenne waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured an 80-74 W against Horace. The win was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Horace are ranked 18th).

Sheyenne's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Shanley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
